  I would of liked to serve in the military ,even for a short time,like the rest of my family and friends.I would do what I do now ,but would have done a much better job of saving for retirement. (Just around the corner ) bull shit

  please excuse me for long-winded ranting.

  i know, as do most of us here that "love" is not something that the jdub's are known for except in their deluded, feeble minds.. i can handle their hypocrisy when it is directed at me, but when it is aimed at family who for decades have genuinely been the type of jw that the watchtower presents to the public, and when it is motivated by pure hate, then i get pissed!.

  my mother was dunked in the 1940's and my father in the 1950's.

  Such a sad story,sorry to read about your mom's passing.Being brought up a witness I really thought we had each other's best interests at heart,we were real friends,I know the truth about that now ,wish it didn't take me so long .If an elder practically wished my mother dead ,like yours , now I would kick his ass in front of the whole congregation

  i never got into trouble with the elders.

  i served on judicial committees too many times.

  i am happy that i no longer have to "judge" whether someone is a "sinner" any longer!

  how many muslims are in the streets protesting and condemning this evil?

  how many are marching in all the big cities condemning this in mass protests?.

  Thoughts on African Americans and Slavery

  let's start by saying that slavery is of course a terrible thing, one of the worst crimes imaginable, and that "slavery" rarely implies good treatment, anything noble or defensible.

  nowadays, even god doesn't escape judgement from our enlightened views with passages about slavery in the bible usually glossed over because they are shameful.. but not all slavery was equal.. because of the media, movie industry, racial tensions in the us regularly shown on the news and our taught history, i think most people's knowledge and idea of slavery is that of the north atlantic slave trade where white people took africans to work in cotton fields.

  this idea is probably also re-enforced because the largest group of descendents of slaves we see today are african americans (usually in the us or places they subsequently migrated to).. but it's incomplete.. it's only when you look into it more that you discover that there was much more to the slave trade than that, otherwise it would have been just called "the slave trade" and not "the north atlantic slave trade".. some 12.5 million slaves were taken from africa to the us with just under 11 million surviving the trip so it obviously took a terrible toll immediately, even before any maltreatment once they landed in the americas where conditions and treatment were truly awful.

  Reinstated and then fade

  i'm a man - d'fd for 2.5 years now and divorced.

  find it hard to date girls out here only due to always having this secret i carry with me that i was once a jw and the thought of telling a girl one day why my family don't acknowledge me as even alive.. recently been thinking of trying to get reinstated and then do a quick fade as i cant go back to the whole jw stuff.. easier said than done and was turned down twice by elders after an immediate attempt 2 years ago.. my motivation for trying would be 1.

  ) to see if family make contact and 2) play the last hand in their game and give the middle finger.. interested in viewpoints?.

  I'm not d'fd,faded and divorced. I've told plenty of women I've done dated that some of my family will act stupid ,none had a problem with it ,if you get reinstated they will not accept u dating out of the truth anyway,so go have some fun
